What is an action roguelite?

An action roguelite is a roguelite where the player controls every attack and dodge in real time. Runs are fast, and unlocks carry over between them. Hades, Dead Cells and Enter the Gungeon are action roguelites.

Action roguelite is the dash, the swing, the cast. Hades and Dead Cells belong: the player steers every fight, then keeps unlocks. Vampire Survivors sits with bullet heavens, because its attacks fire on their own.
