The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth
Nicalis, Inc., Edmund McMillen · Nicalis, Inc.

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is a top-down action roguelike: you shoot tears through randomly built basement rooms and stack items that change how you shoot, move and survive.
What kind of game is it?
Room-by-room twin-stick combat in a dungeon built anew each run. Every floor hides a treasure room, a shop and a boss. Items stack on each other, so two pickups can turn a weak shot into a laser that crosses the screen. Dying ends the run, and finished runs unlock new items, characters and endings.
Who is it for?
For players who want every run to hinge on which strange item turns up in the second room.
