What is a bullet heaven game?

A bullet heaven, or survivors-like, is a game where the character attacks on its own. The player moves through ever larger waves of enemies until the timer runs out. Vampire Survivors started the genre; Brotato and Halls of Torment follow it.

Bullet heaven is a timer and a vacuum. Vampire Survivors coined it; Halls of Torment kept the timer and hardened the look. A game that asks the player to aim or time each hit belongs with action roguelites.
