Games with score attack

Games With Score Attack on Steam start with Balatro, Black Plague, Blood Bounty.

The run is a scoring engine. Winning is a number getting illegally large. A hand, a combo, a rank on a kitchen that just collapsed — the fiction can stay thin because the fantasy is watching that counter refuse to stay polite at all tonight.

The fiction is almost absent; the fantasy is watching a scoring engine explode. Balatro's identity is the spreadsheet you feel in your hands.

How score attack changes a game

The fantasy is the spreadsheet exploding in your hands. Leaderboards and clips both feed on that number, which is why Balatro and Pizza Tower spread without needing a campaign map. Vampire Survivors is a cousin: the bloom is the score. A high-score table glued onto a story RPG does not qualify.
