Cassette Beasts
Bytten Studio / Raw Fury
Creature-collector RPG. Next Fest yes, demo yes, 11,023 reviews at 94.0%, 19.99 EUR on 17 August 2026. A clean example of a Next Fest that converted.
Fest + demo + a collector that is no trademark
Cassette Beasts records monsters instead of imprisoning them. That is a design joke and a legal joke. The Steam tactic is more boring and more useful: fest, demo, collector RPG.
Compare Helvetii in the same research year: also Next Fest, 49 reviews. The column is the same. The stock is not. Shypiard keeps both rows so 'do a fest' stops being a strategy.
11k reviews is not Balatro. It is a successful niche collector. That is the correct scale to study if you are not shipping a viral poker engine.
The player page talks fusion and overworld. This teardown talks conversion of a booth into a review pile.
